Burgers for a Benefit
Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries is teaming up with the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help raise money and awareness in the fight against cancer.
Beginning Dec. 2 and running through the end of the month, Boardwalk will donated 10 percent of each order to Komen when customers mention the promotion. Boardwalk, which recently opened on Broad Street, is hosting a kickoff party on Dec. 2, a Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m.
According to a release, community involvement is one of Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries primary focuses, bringing more than just great food to local communities. Store owner Dhruman Shah said he was happy to lend a hand after only just opening.
"I personally like to help my community," he said during a recent interview.
Every Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries location has a special and unique opportunity to highlight and support various local charities and nonprofit organizations.
Komen officials lauded the participation.
"We at Komen are thrilled to expand our partnership with Boardwalk of Red Bank. Red Bank, more specifically Monmouth County, is a great area of focus for our affiliate," the organization said in a release. "We fund many local programs in Monmouth County to reach women in the communities where they live and work about the importance of an annual mammogram screening."
